Description: BodyMind Dancing involves gentle steps for moving out stress and trauma. More and more people know that the body responds to stress and trauma with specific physiological changes that if they become chronic can lead to anxiety, depression or pain. It is also known that MOVEMENT is one of the best ways to heal from physical and emotional imbalances. Join in exploring movement to music in BodyMind Dancing, one of the world’s first Somatic Dance classes. In BodyMind Dancing you are invited to MOVE your energy at your own pace by tuning into your somatic experience. Also practice focusing your movement to clarify and activate your intentions. In this class you’ll gain experience with a sampling of the principles of Dynamic Embodiment and its source influences – Aikido, Applied Physiology, Authentic Movement, Bartenieff Fundamentals, Body-Mind Centering, Breath work, Dance Science, Laban Movement Analysis, Meditation, Movement Science, Socially Conscious Body and many forms of contemporary and improvisational dance.
