This workshop fulfills 12 credits hours of Neuro-Motor Development requirement for MFLCI & BodyMind Dancing teacher certification.
In this two-day workshop, we go back to the beginning of life, from cells to pre-birth, with a basic introduction to embryology from a Body-Mind Centering®* perspective, to the earliest memories of our very creation, and see how it informs our movement patterns today. Move from newborn to one-year-old patterns, experiencing the relational cycle of yield, push, reach and pull, as well as the practice of “Series One” developmental movement progression created by Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen. Practice adult sequences of neuro-motor development to feel core-limb relationships, drawing on the work of physical therapist Irmgard Bartenieff. Learn how we practice and apply these teachings to Moving For Life. Please note that the workshop will be held from 10:30-5:30pm on each day, with a lunch break from 1:30-2:30pm.
Tickets cost $300 and can be reserved on Eventbrite.
