Description: Learn about how the lower body is the creative center, alive with sensuality, sexuality, and nurturing as well as how we move out into the world – stepping, running and standing. Working with the pelvis and legs engages us with understanding and feeling a hidden muscle – which is ironically the biggest in the body – the psoas. We also find out about movement of the Sacroiliac joint and the piriformis – the little muscle that holds the sciatic nerve, when pinched causing sciatica. The foot bone is connected to the ankle bone, the lower leg bone to the thigh bone and all of this meets at our CORE in the pelvis. The super special factor in this session will be experiencing how the endocrine glands (adrenals, gonads and root chakra glands) can be activated to help get energy flowing. Some time will address how these glands interact in stress and in physical and psychophysical trauma recovery. No prior experience with yoga is needed. All movements are adaptable to be comfortable and watching can also be a great learning.
